Fulfilling its commitment to propagate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the state, the Uttarakhand government has released a sum of Rs 11 crore for the ministry of cultural affairs. In the past four years, the Uttarakhand Government has given a total sum of Rs 45 crore towards the cultural activities in the state, informed cultural affairs minister Vijaya Barthwal.
The money will go towards encouraging cultural activities in the state through several schemes and policies. In addition, a multifaceted Himalayan Museum will soon come up in Rishikesh. Some of the money is planned to be spent on proper maintenance of all the temples in the state.
