For those in Uttarakhand OR anywhere in India, who want to do MBA from IGNOU, but lack job experience; one important thing needs to be clarified. Job experience is required only when the applicant doesn't fulfill primary eligibility regarding graduation, viz:

Graduation in any discipline with 50 percent marks for General Category and 45 percent for reserves category.

That's if a person has less than 50 percent(for general category) OR less than 45 percent (for reserved categories) marks in graduation; then in order to do MBA from IGNOU, he/she will need 3 years of Supervisory/managerial/professional experience along with the bachelor's degree. Thus here, the job experience will make for the lack of minimum required marks in graduation.

To summarize, if you fulfill any ONE of the eligibility, you can do MBA from IGNOU:

Graduation in any discipline with 50 percent marks for General Category and 45 percent for reserves category.

OR

Graduation/Bachelor's Degree + 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience

OR

Professional Degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine/Architecture/Law/Pharmacy

OR

Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/Cost and Works Accountancy/Company Secretary ship etc.

OR

A master's Degree in any Subject

IGNOU is currently receiving Entrance Test forms for the admission to IGNOU MBA January 2012 batch. If you want to do MBA from IGNOU, then You can buy the Entrance Test form (OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU) from your nearest IGNOU Regional center. The last date of submission of duly filled Entrance Test forms is 15 July 2011 (without late fee). The entrance test will eb hled on 21 August 2011.
