With an aim to pacify the citizen discontent at the lower levels, the Uttarakhand CM has decided to take the government straight at the block level.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) B C Khanduri has directed all the district magistrates to ensure that public grievances and problems are solved at the block and district level itself.
Outlining a time frame of one week for the district magistrates, the chief minister, during a meeting yesterday, said all such problems that can be redressed at the block or district level should be solved on an immediate basis. A district-wise record of all problems and grievances of people arriving at the office of the Chief Minister will be maintained and the district magistrates would be required to submit their replies on the action that has been taken by them on the same.
In cases where the problem is that of the state level, then the district magistrate should advocate for the same.
There is likelihood of CM conducting weekly district-wise review for disposal of public grievances, as well. First review will take place the next week.
