Uttarakhand Government has made it clear that it is not bound to accept the report of an all-party House committee, tabled in the Uttarakhand Assembly yesterday, on issuance of caste certificates to people of backward classes; and hence could make changes in the report, after going through various consultation process, told Parliamentary Affairs minister Prakash Pant.

Notably, an all-party committee was set up to find a solution to the controversy over the issuance of caste certificates to people belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories.

Notably, members belonging to both BSP and UKD are not satisfied with the report, as they find the report wanting with respect to caste certificate.
