The result is expected any time soon. Any delay may be caused by instability in the new Government; Although PSC is not bound by any sch hiccups.

There are 368 vacancies to be filed, hence one can assume that close to 3700 would be qualifying for the main examinations.

    Best Of Luck to You.

@Unknown ----> This is entirely speculative estimation, but for general category, the cut off should be 114+.

@Ashish---> EArlier the Lower Subordinate Examination, followed the Upper Subordinate pattern (i.e. PCS), with a General Studies paper and Subject paper (also known as optional paper), in both preliminary and Mains Examination. UKPSC diverted from the pattern, in lower Subordinate or Naib Tehsildar Exam, in the preliminary exam. Now it has announced to do the same in Mains as well. That is in mains -- there will eb no Subject paper (Or optionals).

  • Admin says:
    23 March 2012 at 20:11

@Ashish--->Since the result is not out yet, hence no one can say for sure. It'll be great if the cut-off is below what you have scored. But, 80-85 marks make for 53-57 percent; so just ask yourself, will that be sufficient.

    Best of Luck to You.

  • Admin says:
    23 March 2012 at 20:44

@Rinku---> You are speaking logic here. And negative marking is indeed a factor. But the negative marking is One-Fourth. One-Fourth negative marking doesn't hurt as much as One third does. This makes a section of candidates, who have read the information, but have confusion, can get to the right answer by calculated guess work.

That apart, some teachers at coaching centers are giving too much emphasis on statics. People who are into competitive exams find the section quite easy.

Last but not the least. Just pick up, similar examinations conducted by UKPSC in the past: And you'll see that; the cut-off is going much above 120+ for general candidates.

You appear to be an intelligent guy. And will surely get even better opportunities. Hope, your cut-off limit comes true. Best of Luck.

@Ashish--->Don't bother too much about result; life is full of opportunities to a person who keeps learning.

You appear to be an intelligent guy. And will surely get even better opportunities. Hope, your cut-off limit comes true. Best of Luck.

Result will be declared any time now.

@Anonymous ----> In the absence of any syllabus provided by the UKPSC; any syllabus shared will at best be speculative. But still we can figure out the syllabus by the syllabus for the similar exams in the past.

Although, those who have qualified for the Main exam will get the syllabus, along with their Main Application form dispatched to them; we have tried to figure out the syllabus for you.
