In Ashwin Kumar's movie THE FOREST, the forests are of Uttarakhand!

A movie, named THE FOREST (Horror-Sex drama), starring Jaaved Jafferi, Nandana Sen, and Ankur Vikal (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE); will have a limited release in the major metros on 4th May 2012.

Apart from being the debut feature film of Ashwin Kumar, the man behind LITTLE TERRORIST, which was nominated for 2004 Academy Awards (Oscars) in live action short film category; what makes the movie ‘The Forest’ special enough to be written about here, is that the movie was shot on actual locations in the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttaranchal and is loosely based on The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag, a story by celebrated Hunter Jim Corbett.

The Movie:

The movie is about a woman (Nandana Sen), caught between her husband and an ex-lover amidst a treacherous jungle terrain stalked by an angry man-eating leopard. The movie is produced by Ashvin Kumar and Judith James and presented by Dr. Vijay Mallya, of Kingfisher.
