Courtesy Yoga, Disabled Veteran Walks Again When 15 years ago, American paratrooper Arthur Boorman, returned home injured from the Gulf War, doctors told him he'd never walk unassisted again.
The fact that the paratrooper had chronic back and knee problems; made it impossible for him to continue with his military workout.
Boorman found himself with no option but to believe his doctors and as a consequence, saw himself balloon to 297 lbs.
But, at 47 years old, the disheartened veteran discovered yoga, in a newspaper article about
DDP yoga -- Yoga for regular Guys.
He started practicing the non-impact yoga and successfully shed 140 lbs in 10 months.
And the good thing is, he proved the doctors wrong and walked unassisted.
According to
Yoga Teacher Rajendra Pandey, of RYWC, Tapovan Laxman Jhula Rishikesh; Yoga not only assist in weight loss, but yoga also speeds up healing, espciallyin post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
