Ganga at Rishikesh: A Play by Stray Factory

Bollywood Film Maker late Raj Kapoor was quite fascinated with river Ganga and its soul purifying powers. His movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili, had the same premise. But I have rarely seen any theatre group making a play on Ganga.

So when I stumbled upon a news, informing of a play, named Ganga at Rishikesh, it instantly held my attention.

The play, by Stray Factory, comprises three stories enacted in 25 minutes. The play simultaneously explores three stories that are as hypnotic as they are disparate. They’re set in Rishikesh where diverse people meet and influence one another’s lives. One thing holds them together — The Ganga.

Wonder, what will be the play like, as it will be performed at Sir Mutha Venkata Subba Rao Concert Hall, Harrington Road, Chetpet on Sunday evening.
