Sachidanand Bharti, an eco savior from Uttarakhand, has been mobilizing villagers, Since 1990, to back to the traditional methods of water harvesting to save the hills from the impending doom.

Courtesy his efforts, increase in water table has not only helped in re-greening forests but has also benefited villagers in many other ways.
