Business Standard reports and we quote,

A delegation of senior BJP leaders today met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, demanding withdrawal of a case against party MLA Rajkumar Thukral in connection with the 2011 communal riots in Rudrapur.
The delegation, which included former Chief Ministers B C Khanduri, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, said the case against the Rudrapur MLA was "inspired by political vendetta" and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
Notably, the an FIR was lodged in the case seven months ago had no mention of Thukral, whereas another filed in the case recently has named him as an accused. Even the timing of the riots mentioned in the two FIRs are different, they claimed, adding it was enough to indicate that the case was fabricated and the MLA had been framed.
Bahuguna assured them that the facts of the case will be examined and nothing illegal would be allowed to happen.
Very unfortunate. A documentary movie released some months after the Rudrapur communal riots, showed how Politicians, including Rajkumar thukral, tried to put oil to fire for their political gains. You can see the Rudrapur Communal Violence Documentary Here. If things are seen from vendetta (in Hindi 'Badla') perspective, then no politician can ever be put to trial or behind the bars.

All those BJP leaders who went to the Uttarakhand CM to request withdraw the case, must understand one thing: India has the rule of Law, and they shouldn't be too concerned of the vendetta thing. If there's indeed such an angle; then the investigation and the Judiciary will take care of that. And Thukral will be absolved of the crime. That apart, law can't be different for a Powerful and a common man; so kindly make delegatory visit for some better demands, like Employment for Youth, and better roads etc.
